The board accepts the resignation of the general manager

Appointment of an interim CAO, search for a permanent CAO to start

(Fort McMurray, AB – April 27, 2022) – The Regional Council has received the resignation of General Manager Jamie Doyle.

“Jamie Doyle has led the organization through a very difficult time since 2020, and his work and commitment to the region has brought about real change both within our organization and in the relationships with our partners,” the mayor said. Sandy Bowman. “On behalf of the Board, I would like to sincerely thank Jamie for his leadership and dedication to making this a better place to work and call home. Jamie has blazed an important path and led a remarkable team during these particularly difficult years. I am convinced that the organization is in better shape today, thanks to Jamie’s contributions.

“It has been a privilege to serve this organization and the region over the years,” said Mr. Doyle. “I would like to express my sincere thanks to the municipal staff for their hard work and efforts. I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the past few years. Although I have accepted another Executive Director position in Nova Scotia and will be leaving the community, I will always be grateful for the time I spent at Wood Buffalo.

As the resignation is effective immediately, council has appointed Linda Ollivier, who most recently served as the municipality’s chief financial officer, as interim chief executive while the search for a permanent chief executive is underway.
