CCCPCC 15th Anniversary Celebration

The Chinese Community Consultative Committee for Crime Prevention (CCCPCC) celebrated its 15th anniversary at an appreciation dinner held on June 16.

QPS representatives from the First Nations and Multicultural Affairs Unit, South Brisbane District, North Brisbane District and Gold Coast Districts were joined by Chinese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong and Singaporean community leaders, MPs locals and advisers.

The CCCPCC was established in 2006 and is the result of the hard work of the former Asian Specialists Unit, the Cultural Counseling Unit, Chinese language PLOs and various Chinese community organisations, especially the Queensland Chinese Forum and the Cathay Community Club.

Over the past few years, CCCPCC and PLOs have worked on many projects, including Crime Stoppers and Policelink posters, translation of various crime prevention information leaflets and pamphlets into Chinese, crime prevention DVD of crime, a support group for Chinese victims of crime, a backpacker awareness program and a QSS safety program. platform on WeChat in recent years.

President Clement Sham recognized the significant history of the CCCPCC and the leadership of previous presidents, especially outgoing president Vicky Yu, and her entire committee for their initiatives and dedication to the safety of the Chinese community, showing the unit size.

Chief Superintendent Bill Graham, representing Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll, said the tireless collaboration between Chinese-speaking police liaison officers and the CCCPCC has played an important role in preventing crime and supporting victims. criminal acts of the Chinese community in Queensland.

Later that evening, the certificates of appreciation were presented to Senior Police Liaison Officers Li-Shan Huang, Weng-Mun Sum, Ken Rong, Hong Ma and Police Liaison Officer Darwin Huang in recognition of their support and extensive service in working with the CCCPCC in the community. .
